Change Management Plan


Change management is a structured approach in which individuals, teams and organizations are shift/transit to desired future state from current state. Changes in business environment cause bringing this major change in employees and organization. Some examples of change management include:
·         Missionary changes
·         Strategic changes
·         Operational changes
·         Structural changes
·         Technological changes
·         Behavioral changes
Leaders and mangers are responsible to bring these changes in their business entrepreneur and they need to have competent skills to do so. There are five basic rules to apply change management in certain working conditions and responsible individuals must follow them for effective change management process. Things that need to keep in mind are:
·         Different people react differently to change.
·         Fundamental needs are necessary to meet for each person.
·         People consider lose curve because change brings loss.
·         Expectations of people must be met in most realistic way.
·         Fears should be dealt with effectively.
Now we will discuss how principles mentioned above can be applied to practical change management process. Tips include:
·         Inform people in positive way and be honest while telling them facts of change management. Try to meet their openness needs and set their realistic expectations.
·         Produce an effective communication strategy to ensure people disseminate with necessary information. This will help considering individual react to change.
·         Let people avail choices and be honest in telling them after results of their decisions. Also guide them about possible consequences of their choices.
·         Give people time to give their suggestions and reviews on the process of change management.
·         Also consider where changes involve loss and also identify what can be replacement of that loss. It is necessary to assuage potential fears.
·         Observe good management processes have been taken around you and this would be very helpful in making important decisions of change management.
You should treat the change management process as a project and it would help you applying all rigorous approaches of project management for effective and successful change management.
